What Are Dental Implants?

Dental implants are currently quite popular, and they're discussed extensively. A dental implant involves inserting a large implant, such as a lobed or cone-shaped implant, into healthy bone.

This implant then acts as the root of the lost tooth, and a crown is placed on top of the root. Dental implants have undergone a long evolution. In the past, there were different shapes, such as leaf-shaped, cone-shaped, and porcelain implants.

However, currently, dental implants are generally made of titanium alloy, which undergoes special processing to ensure seamless integration with the bone. A dental implant is essentially a root for a healthy tooth, and a crown is placed on top of it.

Therefore, a dental implant generally consists of three parts: the implant body, the abutment, and the crown.
