There is no absolutely "best" dental implant material, only the material most suitable for your individual oral condition. Depending on your oral condition, the location of the missing tooth, your occlusal needs, and your budget, different materials have their own advantages.
1. Anterior teeth: Aesthetics first → Zirconia ceramic recommended
Advantages: Natural and translucent color, no metallic gray lines, suitable for patients with thin gums or those who expose a lot when smiling.
Suitable for: Those with high aesthetic requirements or metal allergies.
Caution: Relatively brittle, not suitable for molar areas.
2. Posterior teeth: Function first → Grade 5 titanium alloy (Ti-6Al-4V) recommended
Advantages: Strength is more than 30% higher than pure titanium, strong fatigue resistance, and can withstand long-term chewing pressure.
Suitable for: Those with high biting force, softer bone, or those requiring immediate loading.
3. For those with insufficient bone volume → Hydrophilic grade 4 titanium or titanium-zirconium alloy is recommended.
Advantages: Fast osseointegration, good initial stability, and reduced need for bone grafting surgery.
Representative brands: Swiss ITI (Straumann), Swedish Nobel Biocare.
Data support: Hydrophilic surface treatment can shorten osseointegration time to 3–4 weeks.
4. For those with metal allergies or biocompatibility sensitivity → Choose zirconia or PEEK.
Zirconium oxide: All-ceramic material, no ion release, excellent biocompatibility.
PEEK (polyetheretherketone): Elastic modulus close to bone tissue, buffers occlusal forces, but mostly used for temporary restorations.
5. For those with limited budgets → Domestic/Korean grade 4 titanium is a cost-effective option.
Domestic pure titanium: Price approximately 5000–8000 RMB/tooth, high clinical success rate, suitable for those with good alveolar bone conditions.
Korean brands (such as Dentium and Osstem): 7,000–10,000 yuan per piece, with mature technology and extensive market validation.
