Dental accessories require temperature and humidity control and categorized management based on accessory type to ensure performance and sterility.

General Storage Environment: Most dental accessories should be stored at a temperature of 15°C to 25°C and a relative humidity of 45% to 60%, avoiding direct sunlight and moisture to prevent material aging or microbial growth.

Storage of Sterilized Instruments: Sterilized high-risk dental instruments (such as burs and root canal files) should be sealed. Shelf life depends on packaging material:
Textile packaging: 7 days
Disposable paper bags: 30 days
Disposable crepe paper or medical non-woven fabric: 180 days
Disposable paper-plastic bags: 180 days. Once opened, they should be used within 4 hours to prevent contamination.

Low-Temperature Sensitive Consumables: Some root canal filling materials, inlays, and other low-temperature consumables need to be stored in an environment of 10℃~25℃, equipped with a constant temperature and humidity cabinet or refrigerator (e.g., -20℃ to 8℃) for precise temperature control.

Preservation of Light-Sensitive Materials: Such as composite resin filling materials, they need to be stored away from light to prevent premature curing reactions.

Temperature and Humidity Monitoring: The storage area should be equipped with a thermometer and hygrometer or an automatic monitoring system to record data regularly, and equipped with air conditioning, dehumidifiers, etc., to regulate the environment.

Physical Storage Standards: Items should be at least 10cm off the ground and at least 30cm away from walls to facilitate ventilation and meet fire safety requirements. Storage cabinets should be cleaned and disinfected weekly, and instruments should be categorized and clearly labeled.
